Caitlin Bradford, age 10 years, winner of the 42nd Annual Mile Swim, when she returned 23 mins 22 secs for the 1600m, ahead of all other female swimmers and making a record for the 10 year girls which in fact was also better than the existing 11 year girls record.

42nd Annual mile swim
Sunday November 10th – EPIC Leisure Centre.
The club annual Mile Swim will take place during the normal Sunday session, with the first heat starting shortly after 5.00pm. The second, third and fourth heats will follow.
A sign-up sheet will be available shortly. The last day for sign-up will be Friday 1st November, late entries will not be accepted.
Swimmers who are competing in the Mile (48 lengths of EPIC) for the first time must first swim a qualifying half mile (24 lengths) within 20 minutes. An opportunity to complete this half-mile will be available at any club session in October. Speak to Mr Ray McKay, who will arrange this for you.
Trophies are awarded to the fastest 12 years & under, fastest 13 years & over and fastest Masters. Silver medals are awarded to any swimmers who break their age group record.
Certificates will be awarded to swimmers competing the Mile for the first time.
Certificates will be presented on the poolside on Friday November 15th, but the major trophies are presented at the Club Christmas Disco.

Club Annual Gala 2013
This information is for the swimmers and parents who have already registered for the Club Annual Gala 2013 and time trials. The closing date for event registration has passed.
The Club Annual Gala will be held in EPIC on Saturday October 26th at 5.00pm
Trials for the Gala will be held as follows:
- Friday September 20th at 8.00pm: Freestyle, Butterfly & 4×1 length Individual Medley
- Friday September 27th at 8.00pm: Backstroke & Breaststroke
- Sunday September 22nd at 5.00pm: 4×1 width Individual Medley (I.M.)
- Swimmers age 9 years & under swim 1 length races and a 4×1 width I.M.
- Swimmers age 10 & over swim 2 length races and a 4×1 length I.M.
- Age as on December 31st 2013)
Because of these trials there will not be any swim teaching in either the main pool or the small pool on Friday 20th and Friday 27th September.
- On the nights of the trials you should report promptly to the Stewards on the poolside
- You should bring a t-shirt or sweatshirt to wear while waiting for your swims
- You are also advised to bring an extra towel and if possible suitable poolside footwear (e.g. flip flops)
- The youngest swimmers will be released as early as possible, but should be prepared to stay a little later than usual.
PARENTS are most welcome as spectators, both on the nights of the trials and of course at the Gala itself. If you are willing to assist in any way, either on the trials nights or at the Gala please speak to the Club Official on duty in the pool foyer on a club night.
