Ellesmere Port Sport and Leisure Village

Following the pre-planning drop-in session at the Civic Suite, Civic Hall, on the 19 June for the proposed Ellesmere Port Sports and Leisure Village (EPSLV) the latest consultation boards can now be viewed online. First phase of the development – to be built on the site of the now redundant Academy buildings, will start in the Autumn, if planning permission is granted in September. Information will also be available on the demolition of those buildings, to make way for the EPSL.

swim21 Awarded – again!

EPASC 2014 - swim21 Club Essential LevelThe committee are pleased to announce that the club has again achieved swim21 accredited status on 11th December 2013. The accreditation is for a period of 1 year, subject to annual re-accreditation, and continues on from our original swim21 accreditation achieved in 2004.

This accreditation is under the revised swim21 scheme which supersedes that under which we were assessed last year.

Our accreditation is at swim21 Club Essential Level, last year’s assessment at two levels Swimming Teaching and Skill Development and Masters element being superseded. The ASA are updating two further stages of accreditation but as yet we have no details.

Shortly we hope to have our new certificate to be mounted above the notice board.
As part of the accreditation process we were required to update the club codes of conduct which are now being issued as part of the annual membership round. Can you please ensure the forms are signed and returned? Copies of the codes will be displayed on the clubs website to enable all members to have easy access for reference.

We must still endeavour to improve the quality of the teaching and individual achievement of our swimmers, the awarding of swim21 status is the externally audited validation of these aims.

We hope to update the club website in the near future.
